Biography

Dr Yong Zhao is a Lecturer and ARC DECRA Fellow in the School of Science at the University of Newcastle, where he leads the Electrochemical Interfaces and Systems Group. His research focuses on the electrochemical conversion of small molecules, including CO₂, CH₄, O₂ and H₂, and on energy-efficient catalysts and reaction systems. Before joining Newcastle, he was a Research Scientist at CSIRO Energy, leading work on integrated CO₂ capture and electrolysis.
